Carl and Rusty became partners in 1998 when Rusty was a puppy. In the following years Rusty worked as a certified comfort dog tirelessly visiting schools, libraries, hospitals and nursing homes. Little did he and Carl know that in the year 2001, they would experience an event much bigger than any canine hero ever faced on the silver screen. They would have starring roles in the tragic event that the world will always remember as "9-11". Rusty sat with children who lost parents, parents who lost children, husbands and wives who lost their mates, and rescue workers. They all needed the same thing, to hug him and cry into his ruff, and Rusty did his job well. He was a comfort dog and he comforted many throughout the long search.
Today, Rusty and Carl continue their volunteer work and because of their selfless dedication they are becoming celebrities. Rusty and Carl are frequently invited to be the guests of honor at many diversified events including those related to the Red Cross, troop deployments, troop homecomings, and others too numerous to mention.
As Rusty's exclusive photographers we have the honor of attending and photographing many of the special events he attends. Our images of Rusty will be utilized by the Red Cross for a new pin and other fund raisers. Our portrait of Rusty will also appear in the new Barrons Collie Book. The portrait will also become available in a limited edition print in the near future.
